About IBI-AG
IBI-AG is an Agtech company developing a new class of biological insecticides with a fundamentally different mode of action.
The company was established to address a critical gap in the crop protection market: the urgent need for pest management solutions that are highly effective, species-selective, safe for humans and the environment, and commercially viable at scale.
IBI-Ag was co-founded with support from The Trendlines Group, a leading agrifood and medtech venture builder with operations in Israel and Singapore, alongside Prof. Amir Ayali and Dr. Rony Oren Benaroya. The company is also supported by the Israel Innovation Authority.
Our Mission
Science in Service of Sustainable Agriculture
IBI-Ag’s mission is to deliver precision pest control solutions that protect crops and yields without compromising human health, beneficial biodiversity, or the long-term resilience of agricultural ecosystems.
We believe the future of crop protection lies not in broader-spectrum chemistry, but in precision biology — identifying new targets, new modes of action, and designing proteins that act exactly where they are needed, with purpose and specificity.
OUR STORY
From Scientific Insight to Industry-First Technology
IBI-Ag was born with a vision to bring the power of nanobodies (single domain antibodies) to solve pest control gaps and enforcing global food chains.
State of the art tools at day 1 were mostly based on physical biologicals systems (mainly lama immunization). In recent years, recognition that the convergence of modern protein science, protein engineering, and artificial intelligence had created a whole new possibility space for pesticide development, one that had not yet been systematically explored.
Since inception, the company has built a proprietary platform anchored in extensive IP portfolio, covering insect targets, modes of action and single domain antibody (nanobody) libraries.
Those libraries are the generator of a wide lead pipeline validated in green house and field.
Building on this strong foundation IBI AG has developed its AI-driven de novo protein design capabilities.
In 2026, IBI-Ag reached a landmark milestone with the completion of the world’s first proof-of-concept for an AI-driven de novo bioinsecticide protein design platform, validating novel proteins in insect bioassays against major agricultural pests.
